I'm a writer and illustrator based in rural Herefordshire, England.
I studied Photographic Art at the University of Newport, where I explored the relationship between images and storytelling. Since then, I've continued to develop my own digital illustration style, combining traditional textures with colourful characters and imaginative worlds.
I've always been interested in folklore, myths, legends and the stranger parts of history. Give me an old map, a crumbling castle or a peculiar historical tale, and I'm happy. These are the things that inspire my illustrations, which often feature a mixture of mystery, humour and a little bit of magic.
I'm also the creator of Animated Historian, a YouTube channel where I write, research and illustrate videos exploring history's more bizarre moments, usually with a healthy dose of dark humour. From extraordinary historical figures to spectacularly unfortunate mishaps, I love digging up the stories that prove the past was often much stranger than fiction.
Storytelling is what ties everything together for me. Whether I'm writing a script about an unfortunate historical incident or working on a new fantasy adventure, I love creating stories and illustrations that make people curious about what might happen next.
When I'm not drawing or writing, you'll usually find me wandering around the countryside, exploring somewhere old and interesting, or with my nose in a book. I'm always on the lookout for little details and odd stories that might spark my next idea.
